Awards, Gold Medals & Scholarships

Presented at the Convocation to honour academic excellence, leadership and service.

Gold Medals

Awarded to the graduate with the highest CGPA in each programme and discipline — CGPA not less than 8.00 for Science & Technology, and 7.50 for Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce & Management (min. five students in the programme).

Chancellor's Medal

For outstanding contribution to campus life, awarded from among the Postgraduate students. Recipients are intimated personally.

Vice Chancellor's Medal

For outstanding contribution to campus life, awarded from among the Graduate students. Recipients are intimated personally.

Fr. Stephen Mavely Gold Medal 2026

For a student who demonstrates academic excellence, involvement in extra-curricular activities, commitment to social justice and a spirit of service. Constituted by Prof. Ashoke Kumar Dutta.

Good to Know

Know Before You Go

Gown, Cap & ScarfCollected at registration from 1:00 pm. Return the gown and cap after the ceremony and obtain a receipt — damage to either attracts a fine of ₹1,000. The scarf is yours to keep as a souvenir.
Keepsake GownWish to keep your Convocation Gown as a memento? A set is available from the designated rooms / University Office for ₹1,500.
Certificates & TranscriptsCollect your Graduation Certificate and Transcript from the University Offices after the Convocation, on submission of the receipt confirming return/purchase of the gown and cap.
PhotographyOnly official photographers are permitted during the ceremony. Photos will be available for download from the University website the same day; photo booths will be set up on campus for personal pictures in your gown.
Feature in "Spark"A special issue of the University newsletter marks the Fifteenth Convocation. Email a paragraph or two of your reminiscences with a passport-size photo to james.famkima@dbuniversity.ac.in by 31 August 2026.
