Our Initiatives

Swastyayan
Educate, Elevate, Empower
Swastyayan, an Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) initiative, is where compassion meets action. Launched in 2013, it empowers underprivileged communities through free evening tutorials, life skills training, and mentorship. Driven by faculty, staff, and student volunteers, the initiative supports high school students from neighbouring villages with academic help, career guidance, and personal development. Swastyayan is a movement to educate, elevate, and empower for a lasting impact.

Swabalamban
Skills Today, Self-Reliance Tomorrow
Swabalamban, launched in 2014 by the School of Technology at Assam Don Bosco University, is a transformative initiative to tackle unemployment through skill development. It began as a small effort and has grown into a powerful movement, equipping youth with practical skills, confidence, and self-reliance to shape their futures. With a focus on sectors aligned with SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 7 (Clean Energy), and SDG 8 (Decent Work), Swabalamban fosters personal growth and sustainable livelihoods, inspiring collective progress and lasting change.

Community Engagement Through Education
To make community engagement an integral part of education, Assam Don Bosco University has introduced a self learning experiential course with rural practicum in Service Learning for the students of the university. The course comprises of department-specific theoretical input of 30 hours, followed by planned and supervised engagement by the students with communities (200 hours for Under Graduate students, 180 hours for Post Graduate students).
