The UGC has mandated that there should be mechanisms in place to prevent caste based distinction in Universities.

Assam Don Bosco University caters on a large scale to SC/ST students. Over 80% of students on its rolls belong to the SC/ST communities. As on date, the University has not received any complaints of discrimination on caste based considerations.

However, as per UGC guidelines, a ‘Committee for Social Protection’ is in place that looks into any complaints received from SC/ST/OBC students/Teachers/Non-Teaching Staff.
